Of the four nominations of the Constanta State Theatre for the UNITER Awards, two have materialized, including the most important award of the Gala - the Best Performance Award.

Highway to Theatre - second edition

On Saturday, 27 May 2023, the Constanta State Theatre is organising the second edition of the Highway to Theatre programme, bringing audiences from Bucharest to the sea, to Constanta, for a complex cultural experience.

Constanta State Theatre is preparing five trips around the country, two performances in the European Cultural Capital, Timisoara, before the UNITER Awards Gala and a mini-tour

In the coming period, the Constanta State Theatre has scheduled five trips around the country, with two shows: "Seaside Stories", directed by Radu Afrim, nominated this year at the UNITER Awards, and "Games in the backyard", directed by Diana Mititelu, who received the UNITER Award for debut in 2021. Also, in the second half of June, the international co-production "Prometheus '22" directed by Gábor Tompa will go on a mini-tour of the country and abroad.

It was a celebration at the Constanța State Theater on Wednesday, the 29th of March. In the conference room of the Continental Forum of Constanța (formerly known as Ibis), the theater crowd - actors from all generations, technical staff, administrative staff and the production studio staff - alongside UNITER president, the scenographer Dragoș Buhagiar, the UNITER vicepresident, volunteers, public authorities representatives, managers and employees of cultural institutions, marked the World Theater Day. The host of the festive event, which took place under the generic name The Constanța Theater Gala, was the manager of the Constanța State Theater, Erwin Șimșensohn.

Performance made accessible for people with hearing aids

The right to culture is guaranteed by the Constitution for ALL its citizens. Starting from this weekend, the Constanța State Theater will have at least one performance every month made accesibile for people with hearing aids.

Highway to the theatre

Constanța State Theatre initiated the „Highway to the theater”, a project through which for a day, the seaside city offers its visitors a complex cultural experience.

Inspired by similar projects initiated by theaters from Craiova and Sf. Gheorghe, Constanța State Theater developed the initial idea of bringing people from outside of the town, by adding a visit to the Constanța Art Museum and a guided tour in the Peninsula.

PROMETEU'22, at the Finisterra Festival in Porto!

Finisterra Festival, organized by The National São João Theater of Porto and UTE, in the period of: the 27th of January until the 25th of February, represents the climax of the Catastrophe project intiated by the European Union of Theaters. After the performances of the shows will take place in all the partnering theaters, the Portuguese audience will have the opportunity to see, for five consecutive weekends, the international coproductions created inside of the project.
