To celebrate National Culture Day, the Constanța State Theatre is organizing an extraordinary concert on January 15, 2025, featuring artists Ada Milea and Bobo Burlăcianu.

The “Concert in 2” will take place at the recently renovated Studio BCR Hall, located at 2A Ion Lahovari Street, starting at 7:00 PM.

The Constanța State Theatre has reopened the Studio-BCR Hall, a vital space for Constanța's cultural scene.

The Constanța State Theatre hosted the official reopening event of the Studio Hall on Friday, November 29. This essential space for the cultural scene in Constanța recently underwent extensive renovations.

The modernization was made possible by financial support amounting to €200,000 from Banca Comercială Română (BCR), the main sponsor of the project, joined by PPC Energie SA and Rețele Electrice Dobrogea SA as partners.

Actor Lucian Iancu has passed away at the age of 84

Last night, actor Lucian Iancu, a great star of the Constanța stage and an undeniable name in the history of Constanța and national theater, passed away.

The Constanța State Theatre team stands by the grieving family and mourns the loss suffered by the artistic community in Constanța and the theatrical world.

Lucian Iancu performed over sixty roles on the Constanța stage, ranging from Ianke in Take, Ianke and Cadîr by Victor Ion Popa to Palaestrio in Miles Gloriosus by Plautus, directed by Silviu Purcărete, Agamemnon in Legends of the Atrides, directed by Silviu Purcărete, the Father in The Game of Life and Death in the Ash Desert, directed by Gheorghe Jora—broadcast by Romanian Television—Lunardo in The Boors by Carlo Goldoni, directed by Dominic Dembinski, Mr. Papillon in Rhinoceros by Eugène Ionesco, directed by Laurian Oniga, Jupân Dumitrache in A Stormy Night, directed by Gheorghe Jora, Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman, Ulysses in Penthesilea, directed by Cătălina Buzoianu, Dron in The Seagull by A.P. Chekhov, Gaev in The Cherry Orchard, Zorn in The Breakdown by Dürrenmatt, directed by Sorin Militaru, and many others.

The Constanța State Theatre has become a member of the European Theatre Convention

The Constanța State Theatre has recently become a member of the European Theatre Convention (ETC), the most extensive network of theaters in Europe.

The decision was made following a vote by the members of the ETC General Assembly, which took place recently in Liège, Belgium. Director Erwin Șimșensohn, the general manager of the Constanța State Theatre, attended the ETC Conference and General Assembly at the invitation of the ETC Board.

This milestone is particularly significant for the Constanța theater, as Romania has been represented in the ETC until now by only three national theaters, from Craiova, Timișoara, and Cluj-Napoca. Thus, the Constanța State Theatre becomes the first Romanian theater without formal “national theater” status to be invited into this elite theatrical community.

Cancellation of Performances of "The House of Bernarda Alba"

Due to technical issues that have delayed the completion of renovation work on the Studio Hall of the Constanța State Theatre, we regret to announce the cancellation of the performances scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2024.

Spectators who purchased tickets for these performances will be refunded either directly to their account for online purchases or at the Ticket Office. Those who explicitly choose to keep their tickets will be assigned the same seats for the rescheduled premiere dates.

Additionally, as compensation for the inconvenience caused, all ticket holders for the canceled performances will receive a free invitation to any other show in the program for the coming months, subject to seat availability.

Ștefan Mihai, an actor with the Constanța State Theatre, is the grand winner of the "Radu Beligan" Award

The "Radu Beligan" Association, in partnership with the Comedy Theatre and Scena.ro, a renowned performing arts magazine, is organizing this week the fourth edition of the "Radu Beligan" Award ceremony. The grand winner is none other than Ștefan Mihai, an actor with the Constanța State Theatre. The event will take place on Thursday, October 10, at 6:00 PM in the foyer of the "Radu Beligan" Hall at the Comedy Theatre.

The Constanța audience is already well-acquainted with Ștefan, who, despite his young age, has been part of the TSC team for five years and performs in most of the current repertoire's productions.

After a busy spring tour and an equally intense summer dedicated to the third edition of the Summer Season of Performing Arts – SEAS, the Constanța State Theatre team is ready for a new challenge this autumn.

The play Twelfth Night, directed by Andrei Șerban, which premiered earlier this year in February, is the highlight of this tour, receiving no fewer than four invitations to major festivals across Romania and Moldova.
