The 9th edition of Highway to Theatre brought Bucharest spectators to "Machinal"
One of the most recent productions of the Constanța State Theatre, the performance "Machinal" directed by Diana Mititelu, created in April the opportunity to meet a group of spectators who travelled from Bucharest through the Highway to Theatre project, now in its ninth edition.
The initiative, which has become a true landmark of cultural dialogue between the two cities, transformed an ordinary day into a complete experience of discovering Constanța - from heritage to stage.
The program began with a guided visit and an encounter with local history and traditions at the Constanța Museum of Folk Art, where participants discovered the world of Romanian traditional crafts, in a remarkable presentation by Oana Dimache.
This was followed by a tour of the peninsular area, together with Diana Slav, who outlined, through charming stories, a vivid map of the city. The cultural itinerary continued with a visit to the Roman Mosaic Edifice, one of Constanța’s most valuable and spectacular archaeological sites.
In the evening, the audience arrived at the Grand Hall of the Constanța State Theatre, where "Machinal" concluded the cultural journey with emotion and long applause.
The Highway to Theatre project was made possible with the support and involvement of several institutions, to whom we extend our thanks: the Museum of Folk Art and the National Museum of History and Archaeology, the latter facilitating our access to the Roman Mosaic Edifice.
Special thanks go to Diana Slav, for the energy with which she brings the city’s stories to life each time, as well as to our partners who support us consistently: Barissimo, Mangia-Mangia, Popina, Rozmarine, Bueno Restaurant, Atic Millennium, and Pizzico.
Through this ninth edition, Highway to Theatre reaffirms its mission to bring together spectators, cities, and stories, turning each performance into a complete cultural experience.
