The Pre-HOP Camp for Young Actors has started in Constanța.
The Pre-HOP Camp started yesterday in Constanța, an event co-organized from August 6 to 12 by the Teatrul de Stat Constanța and UNITER, as part of the Gala Tânărului Actor program, which has been running for 27 years by the Union of Theatrical Artists of Romania. This year, the artistic director of the gala is director Erwin Șimșensohn, General Director of the Teatrul de Stat Constanța.
The 36 competitors selected to participate in the Gala Tânărului Actor, which will take place in Alba-Iulia, have the opportunity, before the actual competition, to enter an acting lab— a "workshop" and a challenge to work together as the new generation of actors with renowned directors, playwrights, casting directors, and cultural managers.
Starting yesterday and continuing until Friday, individual work workshops will take place at the Faculty of Theatre at the "Ovidius" University, at the BCR Youth Hub, and at the Continental Forum Hotel, focusing on the moments proposed and to be presented in the competition by the young actors, with directors Alexandru Mâzgăreanu, Diana Mititelu, Leta Popescu, and Florin Caracala, and playwrights Gabriel Sandu, Elise Wilk, and Mihaela Michailov.

On Thursday and Friday, two photo sessions will take place with Andrei Gândac, specializing in theatre photography.
On Friday, a masterclass on "film casting presentation" will be held by Domnica Cârciumaru.
On Saturday and Sunday, the young actors will participate in a workshop titled "Independent space! Open space?" with Aura Corbeanu, cultural manager and executive vice president of UNITER.
Also on Saturday, a workshop led by director Radu Afrim will begin, lasting for three days.
Throughout the camp, there will be organized meetings for the young actors to get to know each other better, ensuring that the final artistic product represents them, reflecting their generation's thoughts, concerns, and artistic expression.
After a two-week break, they will travel to Alba-Iulia, where, from August 25–27, workshops and rehearsals will be held at the House of Students' Culture and the "Prichindel" Puppet Theatre, and between August 28–31, the competition stage and awards ceremony will take place.
