Constanta State Theatre, among the UNITER prizes winners, again
28-05-2024

For four years, no UNITER Gala passes without the name of the State Theatre of Constanța and the titles of the plays staged on the Constanța stage being mentioned, both during the announcement of the nominations and at the awarding of the prizes.

At the UNITER Gala 2024, which took place yesterday, May 27, at the "I. L. Caragiale" National Theatre in Bucharest, the State Theatre of Constanța had two nominations: Ramona Niculae for the Debut Award, with the role of Crina in 10 Things We Lost at the Mamaia Festival, directed by Elena Morar and Gabriel Sandu, and Ștefan Mihai for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role Award – the role of Cristi in the same play.

Ramona Niculae won the Debut Award, presented by director Andrei Șerban, who delivered an encouraging speech for all debutants in theatre, while Ștefan Mihai will add this important nomination to his curriculum vitae, alongside the renowned Miklós Bács – who won the award, as well as Emilian Oprea and Gabriel Răuță.

For the State Theatre of Constanța, this is the fourth consecutive year in which it has received nominations for the Debut Award and the third such award won: in 2021, director Diana Mititelu was nominated and won the award (for Jocuri în curtea din spate), in 2022 director Irisz Kovacs was nominated (for 8 tați), and last year, set designer Theodor Niculae received both the nomination and the award (for Seaside Stories). This is a fact that speaks very eloquently about the way in which TSC supports young debutants in professions dedicated to theatre.
