On the 26th and 27th of January, in Constanța, the premiere of the ”Prometeu 22” show, an international coproduction of the Hungarian State Theater of Cluj, the Constanța State Theater and SNT Drama Ljubljana, took place in the hall of the ”Oleg Danovski” Theater of Opera and Ballet.

On January 26 and 27, 2023, in the hall of the “Oleg Danovski” National Opera and Ballet Theatre—graciously provided by the institution’s management—the Constanța audience had the opportunity to attend the Constanța premiere of PROMETHEUS '22. This co-production of the Hungarian State Theatre of Cluj, Constanța State Theatre, and the National Drama Theatre of Ljubljana was performed in four languages: Romanian, Hungarian, Slovenian, and English, with Romanian surtitles. The play is an adaptation of Aeschylus by Ágnes Kali and Gábor Tompa, directed by Gábor Tompa, with assistant director Erwin Șimșensohn. Constanța State Theatre actors Mirela Pană, Florin Aioane, Ecaterina Lupu, Cătălina Mihai, and Dana Dumitrescu shared the stage with Hungarian and Slovenian colleagues.

Both premiere evenings played to a full house.

Director Gábor Tompa, present at the Constanța premiere, addressed the entire team and audience with a heartfelt speech (in English):
"I am very happy we have reached the third phase of our project. I believe the greatest achievement of this project has been, and continues to be, the friendships forged. This is how Europe should be built—through friendships. Thank you very much! Cheers!"

In February 2023, PROMETHEUS '22 will participate in the Finisterra International Theatre Festival in Porto, Portugal, organized by the Union of European Theatres, with two performances scheduled for February 10 and 11 at São João Theatre.

Thank you for being with us!
