For a playwright, the fate of the actors is crucial, and in The Killing of Gonzago, contemporary Bulgarian writer Nedialko Iordanov attempts to unravel the entire context of the play staged by Prince Hamlet to expose his uncle's fratricide.

It is a postmodern exploration of the folds of the Shakespearean work, an attempt to fill in the empty spaces. The result brings before the audience the role and fate of the actor in a totalitarian regime.
