SEAS 2024: The last hour
The play The Last Hour, a production by Nottara Theatre from Bucharest, will be performed on July 12, at 8:00 PM, at Casa de Cultură a Sindicatelor, as part of the SEAS 2024 edition.
In the newsroom of an obscure and failing newspaper, a dull morning suddenly turns into pure adrenaline. Instead of the usual feuilleton, an explosive article accidentally appears in the columns of the Deșteptarea newspaper, disrupting the peace of an extremely influential, famous, and wealthy individual. The entire arsenal of corruption is unleashed to silence the innocent Professor Andronic: intimidation, threats, bribing the press, and influence peddling. Across all eras of society, unscrupulousness and duplicity manifest in the same way. But in the end, intelligence, love, and a passion for history will prevail.
Nottara Theatre brings Ultima oră back to the stage, 48 years after Valeriu Moisescu’s 1975 production, which featured George Constantin as Bucșan. A timeless text, directed by Erwin Șimșensohn, with set and costume design by Carmencita Brojboiu.
