SEAS 2024: The Choice of Mr. Macabeț

The performance The Choice of Mr. Macabeț, produced by the Teatrul Național "Mihai Eminescu" from Chișinău, will be staged on August 22, 2024, at 9:00 PM at Grădina Tomis, as part of the SEAS 2024 festival.

The play presents the block as a societal metaphor, encapsulating the inherent elements of a human community: deceit, manipulation, and infidelity. The actors portray social climbing, illicit gain, and the obsession with power. The characters tarnish their homes and existence through a life devoid of honesty, morality, and decency. The woman who pushes you toward breaking principles is an age-old theme. She doesn’t make you sin; she reveals the sin within you. The dynamic performance reflects on the two-faced nature of our morals, provoking laughter at our petty ways. Key questions include: "Who should I vote for?" "Who do I choose?" "Who am I?"
